First of all I have learned about myself that I am able to switch quickly into a new country and a new work environment. The only difficulty I have here is the language, because Maltese is a really difficult language and you cannot pick up words so easy to find out the subject of the conversation. This has to do with that my company is located in Tarxien. They speak more Maltese than English, but in some cities in the north they speak more English and some teach their children English instead of Maltese. I like this island very much and would like to live here for a longer time period, so then it would be better for me to live and work in the north of the island. It would be much more easier for me to take part in conversations. When they talk English I can understand it, but Maltese is so hard that most of the time I cannot even guess what they are saying.
In this company I have learned that you can start small and end as a big company. the company work for started really small in the garage and now they are the biggest printing company in Malta. With this comes that they have a lot of experience in the printing industry, so I learned a lot about this in the company. They have all processes to make sure that the quality of the printed products is good and also that it does not cost the company to much. The processes are a lot alike as the processes I have seen in Holland, I think this has to do with the size of company. A big or bigger company needs to have a good structure and clear rules. Smaller companies with just a few employees do not need to be as organised as the big ones. This is the conclusion I make when I compare the smaller and bigger companies I worked for. They have the same processes, but the smaller ones may take fewer steps or do not have the process on paper. In the smaller companies you also do not have a much rules or as strict rules. This is logical, because when you have a lot of employees you need to make more and stricter rules to make sure that everything happens as it supposed to happen.
From the job I did I learned a lot, especially in the part of the research I needed to do. I learned about the internet research, but also about the sector the company is involved in. After doing this job I know that I do not want an office job. This is not the kind of job for me, because I like to move around a lot and have a lot of variety in my work. For the internship this is fine, but I could not see me doing this for years and years to come.

    Dear Amy,
Why not exploring your possibilities on the island right now while you are there! Who knows where it might lead to!
